Comics! 🦸🏻‍♀️πŸ’₯

Image
By: James These past two weeks we have been working on creating superheroes supervillains and sometimes sidekicks, but were making them for our comic book. We worked on creating plot mountains, which is an organizer we use to create our story. You had the option to make your comic on paper or on an app called book creator in clever which is an online platform for students teach ers to direct them to certain places. I have found a website where you can create superheroes on the marvel website you make your own spider man but you can disguise them so they dont look like a spider man. We also worked on their backstories and how they got their powers and we can be as creative as we want. Lastly we created their powers & weaknesses like my hero's weakness is hot temperatures because he can shapeshift into animals and due to climate change animals are dying so that's his weakness. Thanks for reading this week's blog. I hope you like it. See you next time.

Sharpie Tie Dye: Isabella

Image
On the week Miss Mountain’s class had MCAS, she gave them a mystery surprise box that her class would open after the boring test. On Wednesday afternoon Miss Mountain finally revealed what was in the box and it was tye-dying t-shirts! With sharpies? Wait, how can you tie-dye with sharpies? Well, I am fortunate enough to know the answer. You see, you have to obviously get a white shirt and put plastic cups in the middle of your shirt and you put rubber bands on top of the shirt. After that, you start to draw shapes on each cup of your choice. After you draw your shapes on the top of the cups, you put rubbing alcohol on your colorful design and drawings, not water. The alcohol will make the sharpie slowly dissolve but it will also spread it out. After some drying, your creative tie-dye experiment is done! This year, we learned about matter. Miss Mountain’s mystery surprise was not only fun, but it was also creative, thoughtful, and the best thing the class had ever done in science (in m...

Celery Experiment πŸ‘©πŸ»‍πŸ”¬πŸ‘¨πŸΌ‍πŸ”¬

By: Paul On March 2, 2022, and on March 3, 2022, the Mountaineers tried an experiment and the mission was can we tie-dye celery??? The experiment started when we wrote a hypothesis to say what will happen to the celery. I said the celery will turn red overtime because when you use hot water and food dye, then the celery will change color. Then, we began the experiment. We got a stick of celery and a cup of hot water with red food dye. Once we got the materials we needed, the Mountaineers started the Can You Tie Dye Celery experiment. Basically, all you had to do was to dip the celery in the cup of hot water with the red food dye, and we let it sit for one day. Can we do it? Will we actually see if we can tie-dye celery? We would find out on March 3rd…  On March 3rd, the Mountaineers observed how the celery was different and compared the celery to yesterday. It kinda did turn red, at least the inside did. But the celery on the outside was turning orange and yellow and soon to ...

Snow Forts By: Sylvia On January 30, the 5th grade will be making snow forts in the snow that will come on Saturday, January 29. They must build a snow fort that.. Fit all their group members. Be at least 5 feet tall last And last but not least , must sustain teachers pelting them with snowballs. On the Thursday before the snowstorm, they planned what it would look like. On Friday, they will make a model. On Monday after the snow comes they will make their snow fort and test if it shall live through the snowballs.
